I would love to hear your thoughts. That’s it! This craft was super easy for me to get ready, and I was surprised how much my 3rd and 4rth graders seemed to enjoy this simple Bible verse craft. Just make sure that whatever side they tape has already been written on, as they won’t be able to write on top of the tape. If the kids tape on the side that they wrote on, they can then draw a picture or write another verse on the back of the “accordion”, if desired. The kids can then fold the verse, accordion style. Then, they can stick a piece of tape to each side of two strips, repeating until all of the strips have been taped together. Remind the kids not to overlap the strips or the verse will not fold properly. Have the kids line up the strips in the proper order, being careful to leave a slight space between each strip. If someone makes a mistake, it is easy to swap in a new paper strip. Have the children write the verse on the strips, a few words or phrase per strip. Fold over the right, bottom corner so that the point meets the left edge of the triangle. Place the folded piece of paper on a table so that the folded, long edge is at the bottom. (For Sunday School, I cut mine ahead of time with a paper cutter and had them available on the table so the kids could choose their own colors and patterns.) Fold a square piece of paper 8 1/2' x 8 1/2' in half, corner to corner to make a triangle. If you want the project to take longer, you could have the kids cut their own strips. You will want at least 7 strips per child. Supply each child with the cardstock strips. (My strips were 4.25 inches by 1.25 inches.)
